To mark the fortieth anniversary of the 81 Uprising we partnered with 81 Acts of Exuberant Defiance as the first production partner of the programme.
Originally envisaged as a weekend of celebration, remembrance and participation, the programme was extended due to the coronavirus restrictions into a year long programme.
On the weekend we guided activation through the delivery of 40,000 postcard packs to households across Brixton and installed Black-owned Business Stickers in local business windows. John Daniel’s Afro Supa Hero Trail was installed along the front line on Railton Road.

We are working on three final part of this programme: Ghost Poetry Trail which will see specially commissioned poems installed on Railton Road, in partnership with Apples & Snakes; Holding the Flame, an interactive QR sculpture and the transformation of Somerleyton Passage to create People’s Corner, a space to celebrate and amplify the voices of our community.
